City of St. Petersburg Recreation Center students kicked off the Dalí Safety Summer Art Outreach program with a Bicycle Safety presentation given by Tina Sink from the Tampa organization, More Health.

Students broke up into groups and brainstormed answers to questions to earn points in a Roadside Rules Jeopardy game.  A student scorekeeper held the Jeopardy scoreboard as both sides competed. Do you know the answers to these questions?

  • What is the required distance to walk around the front of a bus? 
  • Which side of the street do you ride on?
  • Which side of the street do you walk on?
  • Why do you wear a helmet?
  • What kind of clothes should one wear when riding a bicycle at night?
  • What other items are required for night riding?

Students were fitted for Bicycle helmets By staff from Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. they will paint and decorate their helmets in a later class session at local cITY Recreation Centers. Afterward they worked off extra energy in the gARDEN labyrinth and finalized their introductory visit to the Dali Museum by posing at the giant mustache.
